Tres Rios Mexico 2010 trips
Family Friendly ministries in the beautiful mountains of Mexico!
Cost - $595
Date
September 4- 18 , 2010 -- 16
team member maximum
Tres Rios is a village of
approximately 1,000 people nestled in the pine-covered
mountains of northwestern Mexico, at about 6,000 ft
elevation. A small Alliance church was started in Tres
Rios 30 years ago, but there has never been a full-time
pastor there and the church struggles to remain alive in
this remote location. In fact, they have asked for our
help to re-vitalize the church through evangelization,
discipleship, and teaching them to seek out the
thousands of un-reached Indians who live in the
surrounding mountains and canyons. There is a great
need for the Gospel of Christ to be established in this
village.

Our mission to Tres Rios will take us across difficult
and dangerous 4-wheel drive roads through rugged
mountains and across rivers. Those who choose to be a
part of this team will have an opportunity to live in a
remote Mexican village with huge spiritual needs. We
will sleep in sleeping bags in tents or on cement
floors. There will be water available, intermittent
electricity, and perhaps even a shower! Outhouses are
standard operating procedure in Tres Rios. Weather will
be unpredictable: it may be cold and wet or hot and
dry. We will have great opportunities to learn to love
and serve our Lord by loving and serving His people,
those on the team and those in the village. The team
will need to be flexible, willing to serve, and
teachable. (Hiking is not required). We will use
several approaches to evangelize and disciple children,
teens and adults. We will use games, music, VBS-type
activities, men’s and women’s classes, door-to-door
visitation, sports, movies, etc. There will be a small
work project also. |

Rio Chico Mexico - September
12-20, 2010
Rio Chico team trip sponsored by Helena Alliance Church
Fly in/out of El Paso (on the 12, 20)
Main portion of trip will be to work on an addition to the
church building and do gospel music and preaching at Rio Chico.
Previous efforts have also included construction work,
preparing for a water system, working on buildings, fencing, gardening and repairing machinery.
UPDATE - June 1 - We now have
running water on the farm from our cistern at the top of the hill.
It flows to water spigots placed around the farm. The newly
planted fruit trees are growing. Our efforts to get running water
turned out to be much harder than originally planned, but now we are
independent of the community water system and can't be blamed for their
many water problems.
Cost: Approximately $800 - including airfare, motel, travel
costs, meals and housing. Contact Jim Stumbo for further details
and specifications
No
immunizations required

Copper Canyon
Mexico 2010 trips -
Team size
limited to 11
These trips
are strenuous work team visits to our mission partners in Mexico
Trip Cost: $575 Includes all costs departing from and returning
to Cheyenne, WY.
Dates
October 9-23, 2010
Copper Canyon – Northern Mexico
Over the last couple of years we have been working in a very
remote part of Copper Canyon to bring the gospel to the
Tarahumara people. This work has included food and clothing
distribution, medical assistance, and the construction of a
boarding school. The school houses 40-50 students and teaches
children reading, writing, basic math, etc. as well as sharing
the gospel. Much work lies ahead to complete this outreach
site, in addition to preparing for the next. These trips blend
strenuous work in difficult conditions with an amazing
opportunity to love on a bunch of awesome kids and their
families, all with the aim of spreading the love and gospel of
Jesus further into the darkness.

folks we come into contact with. These two weeks of
working ministries into the lives of many Russian people often
result in examples of our faith with few or no words exchanged.
Please call me or write me with name, physical address and phone
numbers for contact and updates for this work team. Men
and women are invited and any skill levels are welcome to be
employed for the sake of the cross. |
